SARL Points System
Races in the Sport Air Racing League are primarily a proving ground for aircraft performance enhancements, be they in the powerplant or aerodynamic/configuration and are typically 100 to 400 miles in length.
Racers have a variety of opportunities to earn points, establishing their position among other aircraft in terms of piloting and aircraft performance.
Finish Positions
Participating races will award points for the following finish positions:
1st Place - 100 points
2nd Place - 80 points
3rd Place - 60 Points
Placement Points
Each place from 4th to last will be awarded points in decrements by 5 points for each place, from 55 to 0 points.
Bonus Points
Each racer will be awarded an additional 10 points for each aircraft (in class) that they beat! First place in class and beating two other aircraft garners 120 points.
Bonus points apply to all finish positions.
Awards Ceremony
Following the last race of each season, there will be an awards ceremony held, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place points placeholders in each class being presented with a plaque for their achievements in that racing season.
Overall Points Award
An Overall Points award will be presented each year to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd point placeholders in each of the the league categories to denote National Champions.
